Muay Thai Trainers
Kodee is the founder and innovator of Team Downs Gym. With a strong background in technology, innovation and digital transformation, Kodee diversifies the team to ensure they are constantly evolving to meet the demands of "you", our most important Team Downs member.
Since his coaching began in 2014, his stable of fighters has grown from one to 15. Through his guidance and coaching methods, Team Downs has collectively attained several national titles, as well as two bronze medals from the IFMA world championships.
His 'tough but fair' approach to training, and quality leadership style, brings out the best in every member who walks through the door.
Mel is a multiple New Zealand champion and Intercontinental champion. She has been involved with Muaythai for 10 years and has attained a number of titles including the WKA Intercontinental welterweight title, the ISKA national title, the WMC national light welterweight title, and a bronze medal from the 2015 IFMA world champs. She's also has the national welterweight title under NZMF - New Zealand's recognised body for Muaythai.
She’s fought nationally and internationally, and has trained in Thailand several times, most recently under the tutelage of the legendary Dieselnoi. While remaining competitive, Mel is Chair of the IFMA Female Commission New Zealand, and co-runs the project 'Wahine Toa - Muaythai' - an initiative that seeks to encourage female participation in the sport.
Mel helps support and facilitate Muaythai classes at Team Downs, and assists the Head Trainer with teaching technique.
